October was a busy month that included two conferences for educators and lots of acronyms.

The North American Association for Environmental Education (NAAEE) hosted its 47th annual conference in Spokane, Washington, and it is at this conference that I hosted a roundtable discussion about the Freelance Condition Project. I had the opportunity to speak with two generous, independent professionals about their experiences working as freelance educators in informal learning environments.

I also attended the California STEAM Symposium in October. Three thousand STEAM educators from 30 states and three countries gathered to explore all things Science Technology Engineering Art Mathematics. It was an enlightening experience, and I am so glad I was able to attend this year.

My participation in the NAAEE conference marked the launch of the second phase of The Freelance Condition Project. If you are a freelance educator working in natural resource fields or environmental education, you are invited to take the survey. Click on the link above to learn more about this project.
