The California Association for Environmental and Outdoor Education will host its annual statewide conference next month in Malibu, CA. This year the conference has the theme Creating a Culture of Science and will feature more than 60 workshops and presentations. Conference strands address creating connections with nature, using technology outdoors, bringing the outdoors into the classroom, developing leadership skills, and issues influencing science and society.
During the conference, I have the opportunity to engage in conversation with freelance educators who work in informal learning environments. This opportunity will come when I lead a roundtable discussion in a session titled, Freelancing in Informal Education, as part of the strand Science and Society. I am looking forward to this conversation.
The Association for Environmental and Outdoor Education is the first association of environmental educators in the nation. It was created for and by outdoor and environmental educators in California. Learn more at www.aeoe.org.
